Recently, I had the pleasure of capturing an engagement session for a wonderful couple, but we faced an unexpected challenge—the weather. With freezing temperatures in the forecast, my clients asked if I could suggest an indoor location with a beautiful backdrop.
Finding an Indoor Photoshoot Location in Nashville
I started searching for a free indoor space in Nashville that offered a stunning setting for engagement photos, but I quickly realized that such locations are incredibly rare. We initially considered Opryland, but the high volume of tourists would have made it difficult to create a relaxed and intimate atmosphere, especially considering my client’s traditional attire. We needed something more elegant and private.
Why Union Station Nashville Yard Was the Perfect Choice
Two of the most beautiful historic venues in Nashville—Union Station Hotel and The Hermitage Hotel—seemed like ideal options. However, both require a rental fee for photoshoots. The Hermitage Hotel, for example, charges $1,000 and requires booking at least a month in advance, which wasn’t feasible for our last-minute decision.
Fortunately, we were able to secure Union Station Hotel just one day before the shoot! The cost for access to this breathtaking historic space was $700, and it was absolutely worth it. The hotel’s elegant architecture, intricate details, and timeless charm provided the perfect setting for capturing romantic engagement moments.
